- 1981 – Awarded “Outstanding” grade for Dissertation submitted to University of Madras as part of the Defence Services Staff College Course, Wellington
- 1987 – Editor of “The Artillery Journal”
- 1991 – “Best Dissertation Award” by Osmania University as part of the Long Defence Management Course
- 1991 – Commandant’s “Case Study Award” during the Long Defence Management Course
- 1992 – Scripted, anchored and produced one hour video film, “Pause to Ponder – Ethics, Values and the Soldier” for the Indian Army while on the faculty of the Army War College. Among the personalities I interviewed were Bharat Ratna J.R.D. Tata and eminent jurist N.A. Palkhivala
- 1995 – “Chief of the Army Staff Commendation” while serving in the Indian Army.
- 1999 – Elected to “Who is Who in American Universities & Colleges”
- 2001 – “Oustanding Teaching Award” at the University of Texas at Dallas
- 2004 – Negotiated and Signed MOU with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi, Symbiosis Institute of International Business, Pune, and TA Pai Management Indtitute, Manipal for student and faculty exchanges with Oakland University, Michigan
- 2005 – Received a grant of $ 181, 970 from the U.S. Department of Education under Title VI B for Oakland University’s “Globalization Challenges” project
